Key Responsibilities:

  • Purpose Report Writing and Editing:
    • Contribute to the development of Cisco's annual Purpose Report, outlining the company's social impact and sustainability efforts.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather accurate data and stories.
    • Write, edit, and proofread report content to ensure clarity, coherence, and alignment with Cisco's brand voice.
  • Blog Content Management:
    • Oversee the content calendar for Cisco's purpose-related blog, ensuring a steady stream of relevant and engaging content.
    • Write and edit blog posts that highlight Cisco's initiatives, partnerships, and impact stories.
    • Work with internal contributors and external thought leaders to source diverse perspectives and insights.
    • Optimize content for SEO and ensure consistency with Cisco's messaging and branding guidelines.
    • Track and analyze engagement metrics and provide strategy recommendations to improve reach.
    • Partner with teams to amplify blogs internally and externally, across Webex spaces, marketing campaigns, emails, events, and more.
  • Purpose Narrative Thought Leadership:
    • Develop and articulate Cisco's purpose narrative, positioning the company as a leader in corporate social responsibility.
    • Partner with the team to develop thought leadership pieces, such as white papers, opinion articles, and speeches for executives, that promote Cisco's vision and values.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate best practices into Cisco's purpose-driven storytelling.
  • Great Places to Work Narrative Writer and Editor:
    • Create compelling narratives that showcase Cisco's culture, employee experiences, and commitment to being an inclusive, Great Place to Work.
    • Write and edit submissions for Great Place to Work and other employer-of-choice awards.
    • Collaborate with HR and internal communications teams to ensure alignment with internal messaging and employee value propositions.
  • Social Media Content:
    • Support the social media team in drafting compelling content related to our people and Purpose work.
    • Monitor social media trends and leverage analytics to inform content decisions and measure impact.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 plus years of experience in content writing.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and analytics tools.
  • Experience in corporate communications, content creation, or journalism, ideally in social responsibility or sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates experience in purpose-driven content creation.
  • Strong project management abilities and experience managing content calendars and production timelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior executives, CSR teams, and external partners.
  • Passion for social impact and a deep understanding of CSR and ESG trends.
