As a Senior Product Manager on the Windows Build team, you will be responsible for driving security initiatives within the Windows Engineering System, including definition and rollout of key error detection and sanitization frameworks. You will work closely with the Group Program Manager to identify, evaluate, plan, and execute programs that harden the Windows codebase and deliver a more secure and robust product. You will develop and own a roadmap while balancing competing priorities across the business. You will also drive team planning, our rhythm of business, and growing our team of talented Product Managers and Technical Program Managers.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ experience in a role meeting with customers or representing customer needs within the business.
  • 4+ years’ experience working on a technically challenging complex problem space in software/hardware engineering, requiring cross group or partner collaboration.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering systems including building, validating, and deploying software for Windows.
  • Proven record of success with cross-team collaboration, working closely to find common goals, simplify the complex, and find novel solutions to tough problems.
  • Experience creating functional specs that synthesize customer scenarios into clear concise requirements and defining success metrics.
  • Self-driven and passionate developer advocate with excellent communication skills and customer-oriented problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software supply chain concerns around Quality and Security.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to identifying customers’ multiple needs and market opportunities for enhancements or development of multiple feature areas.
  • Build experiences across multiple feature areas to determine impact, foresee future opportunities, and provide research evidence to determine priorities.
  • Help distill the vision into a product roadmap and drive business impact across the organization.
  • Track metrics, identify future-oriented opportunities, and provide clarity on fundamentals of multiple features or feature areas.
  • Provide thought leadership for questions and challenges from group managers and other leaders, while managing challenging feedback.
  • Help to define the feature set and partners with Design teams for desired functionality and product vision.
  • Create and drive strategy for taking the feature sets to general availability.
  • Embody our
