Running a global world class service that is tightly integrated with mission critical productivity apps (Microsoft Teams and Outlook) with millions of active users presents broad and evolving challenges.constantly in need of improving our engineering systems and cloud services to meet the growing demands of a large user base (and a team of engineers) that are rapidly expanding. We have complex multi-tiered applications running off distributed micro-services, handling billions of user interactions every day, generating petabytes of data that require analysis and transformation, spanned across hundreds of thousands of machines.As a
Senior Sofware Engineer, your key responsibilitiesinclude the following:

• Modernizing our systems to ensure that our developers can work with the newest and best technology.
• Refactoring andoptimizingour computations and framework to improve our performance and scalability so that we can deliver cost-effective features.
• Developing tools to analyze,monitorand recover our services to increase the resiliency of our services.
• Improving our engineering systems to ensure that our growing and global development team can build,deployand manage our service in asecuredand compliant manner.
• Build and improve systems that enable big data analysis to measure user and organizational productivity and customer engagement.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.
• Experience in design and implementation of large-scale cloud services.
• Experience with data analysis and machine learning is a plus.
• Strong technical, cross group collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of modern engineering practices like automated deployments with integrated quality gates and experience working with modern version control systems like Git.
• Apache Spark knowledge and hands-on coding experience with Scala.
• Passion for customer-focused innovation.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
