Lead Engineer Electrical (Hyperscale Datacentres) – Buildings Electrical (B & I)
We need a person who has
detail engineering experienceon at least 2 to 3 Hyperscale Datacenter for prestigious clients

• Delivering Drawings to desired quality standards and according to mutually agreed timelines with the client.
• Able to communicate in confidence with client or foreign counterpart.
• Working in team to deliver projects on time.
• Attending meetings with technical leads.
About you
• BE/B Tech/ME/M Tech Electrical
• 17-20 years of experience in designing Hyperscale Datacentre projects (Tier 3 & 4).
Extensive knowledge of Hyperscale Data Centre technologies, interdisciplinary knowledge of systems and 220/11KVGIS Substation Design.
• Maintain contact with other disciplines/groups to ensure:
✓ Project Manager and/or Engineer are aware of problems of progress delays.
✓ Proper interchange of information.
✓ Proper interchange of documents
✓ Interface is correctly defined.
• Ensure that site problems viz. Technical Queries and Non-conformity Notices are dealt effectively and expeditiously and also ensure competent staffs are available for site trouble shooting as necessary.
• Attend Design Engineering Management Review Meetings.
• Visiting sites for engineering / resolving site queries
• Coordination with various stake holders like Client / various internal disciplines like Projects / Piping / HVAC/PHE FF/ELV / Architecture / Civil / Vendors for effective engineering management
• Training of junior engineers
• Inspection of electrical equipment
• Experience of working on Hotel (5-star & 7-star hotels) & resorts Universities, Townships, high-rises, Malls & other commercial buildings will be an added advantage.
• Hands on experience on domestic & international Energy efficiency codes & building codes
• Overseas project experience will be an added advantage.
• Renewable generation & integration knowledge is preferred.
• Design (Concept, FEED, and detail design) of Electrical systems
• Guides the team & reviews the design activities viz. SLD’s, AC/DC SLD’s,Layouts, cable schedules, interconnections schedules, Specifications, Bulk MTO/MR, designs for all
Electrical works including internal & external electrification, SITC of Electric sub-stations,
the Data Centre building design. He/She should be through with the all the technical aspects of the electrical design.
• Performs Equipment sizing calculations like Transformer, Generator, HV/LV cable, AC UPS,
Battery, Capacitor banks, conductor sizing, fault level, indoor & outdoor illumination, earthing and lightning protection etc.
• Should have EHV Transmission & Distribution knowledge to design AIS & GIS projects upto 220kV.Should have working knowledge of ETAP & should be able to review system studies calculation/reports independently.
• Applies broad practical knowledge to design layouts & produces – Equipment layouts for indoor/outdoor substation, trench/tray layouts, lighting, earthing & lightning protection layouts (Should be able to give mark ups to technicians & should be able to review from
technical/quality perspective.)
• Have through knowledge & prepare technical specifications, data sheets for electrical equipment’s like transformers, DG sets, HT & LT switchgear, Compact substations, UPS, Battery & Battery charger, Distribution boards, Lifts, etc.
• Vendor drawing review of all the electrical equipment’s & calculations.
• Technical Bid evaluation/documentation.
• Monitor installation and ensure smooth operations and functioning of all electro- mechanical services.
• Ability to carry out overall MEP & inter- disciplinary coordination.
• Resolve any design issues & coordinate effectively with leads.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and communicate work with team members all design aspects of the project.
• Attend client meetings for technical clarifications.
• Capable of working under challenging workload subject to change at short notice.
• Good communication & IT skills.

• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD & good working knowledge of Revit & clash detection, Dialux, Amtech, ETAP etc.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, and MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
The incumbent should be through with the all the technical aspects of the electrical design.
Candidate should have 15 to 20 years of experience in designing Hyperscale Datacenters for prestigious clients to define electrical system design requirements like power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems for multiple data center projects from inception through completion.
Ensure compliance with Industry standards, codes & regulations including the latest TIA guidelines ,IS standards, NEC & IEC standards.
Analyze Electrical systems to identify & resolve issues including load balancing, capacity planning & power consumption optimization.
Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and training programs for Datacentre design for junior engineers.
Should be able to prepare SLD’s,Layouts, specifications, MR’s & conduct VDR for all electrical equipment for Datacentre design.
