When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re helping our clients protect our world’s natural resources. As a wildlife biologist, you will provide technical direction and support for the wildlife biology components of our challenging natural resource projects.

Based out of Edmonton, you’ll have the opportunity to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams associated with our Western Canada Offices to contribute to the environmental planning, permitting, and construction support efforts of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects. As a
Junior Wildlife Field Biologist

Here's what you'll need
  • Minimum degree or diploma in biology or other environmental discipline (or near completion), primarily related to wildlife, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Experience conducting biological or environmental work in an outdoor setting
  • Willingness and comfort working in the field in remote locations for up to 2 or 3 weeks at a time and overnight at hotels and project work camps
  • Relevant field experience, courses, and interest related to wildlife, preferably with an emphasis on bird identification and surveys, amphibian identification and surveys, and wildlife tracks and sign in western Canada
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated to learn and develop as a valuable team member
  • Strong consideration for safety during your work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and suited to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • A driver’s license and ability to provide a clean, 3 year driving abstract

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Interest and knowledge of other biophysical study areas, baseline studies, and monitoring programs such as wetlands delineation and classification, soils, rare plants, weeds, water quality monitoring, and/or fisheries
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulatory requirements, as relating to wildlife, primarily in western Canada
  • Hold or be working toward a Professional Designation under the BC College of Applied Biology and/or the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists.
  • Demonstrated quality data collection skills
  • Experience traversing and/or working in remote areas in various terrain and weather conditions
  • Experience driving 4x4 trucks on remote and gravel roads
