Responsibilities of the Role:
- Define the environmental compliance strategy for the program and ensure environmental compliance is adhered to
- Develop the program's approach to meeting ISO14001
- Identify KPIs to manage performance, data quality and cost of processes developed by the consortium
- Accountable for the management of statutory environmental permit requirements, such as but not limited to, emissions monitoring and reporting
- Influence teams to develop long term sustainable solutions to meet and/or exceed requirements
- Create a framework to review environmental compliance, including close collaboration with the Permits, Licenses and Approvals (PLA) team. Utilizing risk assessments and compliance evaluations, lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize environmental aspects and impacts;
- Responsible for assessing new and changing environmental legislation and providing responses to key stakeholders/consultations
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in environment, science, a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of applicable experience
- Experience in environmental policies, environmental management, assessment, auditing, or consulting or a related field.
- Experience in development of ISO14001 EMSs on complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of global and regional regulatory frameworks and compliance best practices in environmental sector
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective environmental compliance policies.
- Bi-lingual is an asset
- Must have driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Experience in a variety of project delivery models considered an asset
- Experience working in a developed or built up environment
