Responsibilities:The engineer joining our established team would extend our capabilities with their expertise in power efficiency analysis, working to:
- Design new experiments to capture performance data targeting key hypotheses to explore,
- Lead efforts analysing power traces to produce power efficiency data, making this repeatable for others on the team,
- Represent our data and interests in a compelling manner in discussions with Partners and other teams in Arm.
Required Skills and Experience :We spend most of our time working to get high quality data from devices that are designed for people rather than engineers. This brings its own challenges, so we are looking for an engineer who:
- Is self-motivated and curious, committed to finding creative ways in which to measure the power efficiency of the latest tech,
- Has a proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to adapt or write new microbenchmarks to specifically target experiment outcomes where required,
- Has a high attention to detail and standards of quality,
- Is proficient at using tools such as Python to post-process data, produce statistical summaries and performance reports in a repeatable manner
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :The following are things that we would be looking for in our ideal new team member:
- Experience in coaching, mentoring or line management
- Understands the challenges inherent when experimenting across many dimensions of variables, and has strategies to bring clarity to these situations,
- Has practical experience of software development as part of a team, enabling you to contribute both function and architectural direction to our team's large scale automation systems.
