As a High Yield Portfolio Manager within the Global Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities (GFICC) team, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and implementing separately managed high yield credit portfolios. You will work closely with a team of deeply experienced fundamental credit research analysts and traders. You will be responsible for providing analysis of portfolio positioning, sector allocations, key risk metrics, and determining account & portfolio suitability of securities for participation in investment recommendations. You will develop and optimize portfolios to outperform client defined benchmarks utilizing relative value, macro, and microeconomic analysis.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform high yield credit investing with an emphasis on risk/return analysis, individual security selection, and limiting downside risk
- Construct and continually monitor diversified portfolios designed to outperform client defined benchmarks and/or meet specific client objectives
- Provide analysis of portfolio positioning, sector allocations and key risk metrics
- Study market commentary, research opinions, and economic forecasts to assist in determining strategic and tactical portfolio level strategy
- Actively participate and represent the platform’s philosophy, process & strategy styles at client, consultant and internal meetings
- Participate in the design, development and implementation of new business processes, technologies and workflows using your industry and asset class-specific knowledge
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Minimum 7+ years of credit portfolio management experience, specifically within levered/extended credit
- Idea generation and implementation in risk budgeting, analysis, portfolio sector allocations and trading skills are all important to success in this position
- Strong aptitude to identify and minimize investment/business risk
- Ability to promote and explain investment decisions and processes in front of prospective clients, consultants and internal stakeholders
- Strong aptitude in desktop technology/productivity tools such as Excel. VBA, Python or other coding
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- CFA designation and/or a postgraduate degree preferred
- Experience with portfolio management tools such as Bloomberg, Investortools/Perform
- Strong preference for individuals with prior fundamental credit research experience
