Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 6+ years User Experience Research experience and/or product development experience or related experience in research
    • OR Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 4+ years User Experience Research experience and/or product development experience or related experience in research
    • OR Doctorate in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 3+ years User Experience Research experience and/or product development experience or related experience in research
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with business applications and enterprise product research.
  • Experience scaling research through enablement.
  • 10+ years of hands-on research and/or product planning experience, with demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data to improve plans and UX in a technology industry setting.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, leading and growing research teams.
  • Experience leading horizontal initiatives and scaling research impact across multiple cross-disciplinary teams .

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of trends in generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), and experience researching AI adoption and use.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and understanding the needs of users across a wide range of technical abilities.
  • Deep understanding of user research tools like Qualtrics, Dscout, and UserTesting, and experience in emerging AI research tools.
  • Hands-on research and/or product planning experience, with demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data to improve plans and UX in a technology industry setting.
  • Experience impacting both product direction and detailed experience design.
Responsibilities
  • Work as a research strategist and manage a small team and product portfolio of user research . Be a thought leader in the space of enterprise products, focusing on customers and end users simultaneously as you drive research. As a User research Manager, deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring. Our Leadership Principles:

  • Show research leadership by triangulating and quantifying how gaps in experiences affect revenue, usage and end-user experience through qualitative, quantitative, or secondary studies.
  • Drive UXR maturity in the organization by proposing and prioritizing effective research tracks in the context of the product development cycle. Build clarity and confidence in the research roadmap that you will lead from the top for your area of work.
  • Own customer journeys cutting across the product and JTBD for particular moment-in-time user experiences. Provide qualitative and quantitative customer feedback to influence product development at different granularity, from product strategy to cross-platform coherence to feature usability.
  • Build and communicate a strong product point of view, driving product changes rooted in deep user needs through high-quality reporting both through written and verbal communications. Tackle problems that require an understanding of complex technical constraints across multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android) while working to guide near and long-term investments.
  • Set benchmarks for high-quality craft in UXR through research methods, analysis, and synthesis frameworks, and UX metrics. Create research strategies that leverage existing data across CxD and Microsoft to complement the additional research that you need to execute.
  • Identify stakeholders across Microsoft and build strategies to bring them along as you provide insights.
