In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas:

  • Human Centered . You’ll deeply immerse yourself in knowing your internal and/or external customer(s) by employing empathy and design thinking to define broad-scale solutions that provide breakthrough leverage. You’ll model adaptability by encouraging continuous evolution to product strategy in light of industry trends, emerging solutions, new insights and changing customer and business needs

You’ll deeply learn the financial drivers, externalities, and points of leverage within your domain to identify new products or product enhancements that drive sustainable value for Capital One. You’ll be promote a culture anchored in data, used to instrument products, validate outcomes, drive insights, and manage the business both tactically and strategically

  • Technology Driven . You’ll be responsible for fostering a strong agile discipline and inspiring teams to continuously improve delivery evidenced through key agility metrics. You’ll partner with Technology leaders to influence end-state architecture and drive secure, resilient, performant and scalable technology solutions that solve material customer and business problems. You’ll govern the responsible and efficient application of technology resources by assessing opportunities for reusing existing solutions, clearly defining minimum viable products, and always building with extensibility in mind

  • Integrated Problem Solving . Develop and champion a bold vision that drives meaningful outcomes by embracing the art of the possible. Build frameworks for complex decision making that enable effective debate and accelerate getting to the right answer.

  • Transformational Leadership . You’ll establish a long-term product portfolio strategy, informed by customer and business needs, and partner with leaders and stakeholders to regularly drive alignment, secure resources and overcome impediments. You’ll attract, grow, empower, and inspire top product talent as they develop and deliver on their local product strategy in an iterative, outcome-focused and well-managed way

As 2024 is a pivotal year for our marketing and messaging capabilities, you will shepherd an ambitious agenda that includes a mixture of product delivery and destination product strategy outcomes, including:

  • Recruit and build a high-performing product team, and play a key role as an LT member in elevating the culture, talent, operating rhythms, and inclusivity of the organization as it continues to evolve and mature. As a people leader, you will lead an organization of product managers aligned to engineering teams, and partner closely with their tech director, senior director, and architect.

  • Design, launch, and scale card consumer marketing and messaging products that directly enable messaging transformation and scaling of card marketing on the modern ecosystem.

  • Co-create, along with Enterprise partners, a destination architecture to power marketing and messaging, working back from a 2-3 year time horizon, grounded in future-state functional requirements of the Card business. This should directly shape our card and enterprise direction and investments.

  • Maintain a well-managed product organization, including the stewardship and management of in-production products/services. Critically evaluate and converge/rationalize redundant, under-utilized, and/or otherwise low-leverage services and infrastructure in our ecosystem that is not destination-aligned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 8 years of experience in digital product management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • 8+ years of experience in Agile product management

  • 8+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $272,600 - $311,200 for Sr. Dir, Product ManagementThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
