However, to be able to best deliver on the purpose of this role, these are the core skills and experiences you should have on day one:

  • BS, MS, or PhD degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science / related field (or an additional 4 years’ experience in lieu of degree) is preferred.
  • Language proficiency in English is required.
  • Relevant certifications from Microsoft or competitive platforms AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
  • Deep domain expertise in one of the Data and Apps -specific areas, such as SQL Server, deployments and migrations to the cloud, Open-source database deployments and migrations, Cloud Scale Analytics, Data Governance, Kubernetes, Integration services, app development, etc. OR hands-on experience working with the respective products at the expert level
  • Working knowledge of Azure and/or competitive cloud technologies
  • You have related experience in technical pre and post sales/technical consulting/architecture, with a broad knowledge of consultative technical sales, deployment projects, architecture, design and implementation across data and analytics technologies.
  • You have validated experience in consultative technical selling approach, including bringing innovative ideas to customers problems and being customer focused.
  • You are success-driven, work well in a diverse team and enjoy a dynamic and changing environment.

The Impact You'll Be Making

  • The Digital Technical Specialist team consists of highly capable individuals that drive Microsoft wins on the latest cloud and modern development technologies.
  • As a Digital Technical Specialist, your primary responsibilities will be to engage with customers, partners and your account team to understand the business’s needs, and then prove and design customer business solutions that leverage the Microsoft Cloud for Business with a focus on Microsoft Azure Data Services.
  • You will own technical and solution envisioning with customers via Microsoft Teams engagements including demos, custom demos, solution designs, implementation plans and proof of concepts.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers, using consultative sales methodology and technical expertise to understand their needs and demonstrate how Microsoft solutions can address them.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, proactively identifying and addressing customer pain points with solutions and business cases.

  • Share customer insights and best practices with Engineering to remove key blockers and drive product improvements.

  • Develop a technical strategy that maps the customer's vision, resolves concerns, prevents and removes technical blockers, and validates a strong business case for investment.

  • Conduct technical assessments to create a map of the current landscape and build technical migration and modernization plans.

  • Identify new opportunities within customer engagement.

  • Maintain and grow expertise in AI technologies, Application Innovation, Integtation Services, Data Modernization, Analytics, Data Warehousing, while keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights.

  • ·Scale through partners by acting as a liaison between the partner and account team, facilitating partner resources and processes, and supporting partner technical capacity by identifying skill and resource gaps. Develop customer technical skilling plan in collaboration with customer and account team.
