The Intelligence Lead Analyst is a senior level professional responsible for driving efforts to prevent, monitor and respond to information/data breaches and cyber-attacks. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the execution of Information Security directives and activities in alignment with Citi's data security policy.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Analyze regional threat data and determine a correlation if any, to existing intelligence requirements
  • Monitor and research cyber threats with a direct or indirect impact to the Citi brand
  • Research and identify malicious activity by performing post-mortem analysis on logs, traffic flows, and other activities
  • Conduct intrusion analyses to ascertain the impact of an attack, and develop mitigation techniques for future attacks
  • Evaluate networks and programs to assess potential weaknesses and points of entry
  • Analyze and present to senior leadership discovered patterns to forecast future cyber-attacks and their potential impact
  • Liaise with intelligence communities, law enforcement, industry partners, peer financial institutions, and information sharing communities
  • Triage, process, analyze, and disseminate intelligence alerts, reports, and briefings
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Additional Job responsibilities –

The Protective Intelligence lead analyst is a global program role requiring expertise in open-source intelligence activities, specifically in the use of analytics, link analysis, and predictive analytics. A successful candidate is someone demonstrated understanding and experience in:

  • Lead the development of protective intelligence-driven solutions to help executives understand and reduce their open-source exposure.
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of new technologies and tools to improve analytical capabilities, streamline project workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a proactive, self-motivated approach, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results while collaborating effectively with global teams.
  • Continuously monitor open sources, deep web, and dark web data to identify emerging threats, risks, and unusual activity impacting executives or critical business operations.
  • Apply advanced analytical methods to deliver clear, actionable insights and recommendations at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
  • Transform complex analyses into clear, concise reports, presentations, and visual products that are accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze and communicate developments in the digital privacy landscape, providing stakeholders with timely, relevant updates to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate operational events, trends, and risks to identify root causes and provide forward-looking recommendations for mitigation and improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, business partners, and external experts to expand and strengthen the digital privacy program, with a focus on proactive risk management.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering professional growth while upholding high standards of data integrity, analytical excellence, and ethical conduct.
  • Deliver polished, professional briefings and presentations to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring complex findings and recommendations are communicated with clarity and precision.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Should have a working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Advanced Persistent Threat, Third Party Risks/Threats, Cybercrime, Extremist Groups and Cyber Terrorists, Hacktivism, Distributed Denial of Service attacks, Fraud, Malware, Mobile Threats
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
