Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical equipment and related systems including motors, motor starters, motor control circuitry, AC/DC systems and VFD’s
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Perform and assist with preventative maintenance of various power systems, UPS systems, transformers, transfer switches using standard tools and testing equipment power meters, ammeters, power analyzers and infrared camera
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- New electrical installations - adding receptacles, new lighting fixtures, conduit work (bend and install), rough out with MC and greenfield
- Low voltage and data installations, run communication wires, punch down standard 568A/568B pin out. Perform industry accepted testing, and have a strong knowledge of different cable types and connector terminations
- Set up and support for various types of high profile events held. Ensure all work is complete in a neat and timely fashion
Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of experience as an electrician including a strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and installation practices
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and electrical schematics
- High school diploma or equivalent including formal electrical training as part of a recognized documented program
- Ability to perform daily duties in a safe and professional manner and work as approved by the OSHA safety standards and procedures
- Ability to work with, and lift 50lbs. Climbing of ship ladders, extension ladders, and working at heights in various weather conditions
- Must be able to crawl and work in small, confined spaces for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of basic electronics and computer knowledge and programs is a plus
- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing
- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
Hours will be 3:00 PM-11:00 PM EST Monday-Friday
