Design & Planning Specialist

The Design & Planning Specialist designs, analyses, plans, and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of the short or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signaling. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in the required sequence of network activities. Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine ithe mpact on network capacity and development plan projections. Performs the end-to-end design activities (including surveys, design itself, and as-built) required for a physical network deployment.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
  • Optimization of the Core network including SBC, BCSTAS, CFX, Routers, Cloud, IP nodes etc.
  • Exposure to 4G VOLTE & LTE network with call flow and protocols used.
  • End-to-end management and coordination of Fixedline IMS Network, SBC such as handling of call-related issues of IMS at SBC level and coordination with Hub location for analysis at TAS/CFX.
  • Driving customer presentation, customer communication, customer interaction and negotiation, and guideline publishing.
  • Extensively working on SIP, 3GPP standards, signaling protocols, standard call flows used in various technologies like 4G, VOTLE, IMS, Voice over WIFI, and Fixed line over IMS etc and related message tracing, understanding of parameters and analysis.
  • Dealing with Interfaces and Protocols such as SIP, DIAMETER, DNS, ISUP, MAP, INAP, CAMEL & Ro etc.
  • Solution/resolution conceptualization & design, pilots, testing, guideline preparation, and rollout support for various customer-driven as well as regulatory requirements. KPI, SIP error, Node utilization CC tracking of the network.
  • IMS Network troubleshooting, monitoring, and tracing on interfaces such as Wireshark or internal system traces and logs.
  • Impact analysis, capacity planning, and optimization guidance for New product pilots, New features/functionalities/pilots / new launches etc.
  • Share regular reports/ Updates to Management/Customer/Internal.
  • Customer Complaint Handling and first-level Wireshark trace capturing and analysis
  • Comfortable with Redundancy testing and disaster handling including hardware change management handling.
  • Co-ordinating with Planning/ Customer/Care/ Solutions, GDC, Care, Operation and Customer, knowledge of raising trouble ticket process, emergency handling mechanism

Typically 7+ yrs covering/related to below and a graduate equivalent degree.

  • Experience in optimization of Core network including SBC, BCSTAS, CFX, Routers, Cloud, IP nodes etc.
  • Exposure to 4G VOLTE & LTE network with call flow and protocols used.
  • End-to-end management and co-ordination experience of Fixedline IMS Network, SBC such as handling of call related issues of IMS at SBC level and co-ordination with Hub location for analysis at TAS/CF
  • Multi-vendor Core NW exposure and experience such as Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei IMS, etc.
  • Able to engage customers on the technical front and contain escalations on ground level.
  • DB Planning for configuration and Support in the implementation of new features inthe network.
  • Driving of testing & rollout with due planning support.
  • KPI formulation and negotiation with internal as well as external teams
  • Good Spoken, Written, and interpersonal skills as a team player.
  • Willing to work in after-office hours as per need/emergency
  • Working knowledge of Linux & Unix
  • Exposure to IP networking, topology planning, and related KPI optimization (preferably certification of CISCO, ALU, Juniper etc.
  • Fixedline IMS disaster Recovery understanding of the Core and Access node during outages.
  • Fixedline IMS Peer node basic level understanding for troubleshooting.
