What You’ll Do
  • Be a member of a cross functional product development team and own validation of cell and/or battery product requirements.
  • Note: Flexibility to perform cell and battery level testing is required. Assignments and projects will be decided based on previous experience and current project needs. First projects will be focusing on batteries.
  • Execution and maintenance of cell and/or battery tests using cyclers, specialized temperature control fixtures, environmental test chambers and data loggers.
  • Write test plans, propose design of experiments and summarize results in test reports.
  • Perform or oversee destructive analysis of cells and/or batteries to analyze reliability and performance issues.
  • Thoroughly document test results and prepare presentations for executives.
  • As needed: Collaborate with external stakeholders and oversee external testing.
  • As needed: Build, assemble and commission equipment for testing.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience with test equipment for cell and/or battery testing (cyclers, environmental chambers, DAQs) or comparable experience with electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to create new test concepts and methods connecting first-principle thinking to product characteristics; propose design of experiments, and execute tests independently.
  • 3D Design/CAD skills and creation of fundamental wiring and hydraulics diagrams is plus.
  • Initial experience in MATLAB/Python or other software for data processing is required, SQL is a plus.
  • Projects require to work with hazardous materials using mandated PPE.
  • Hands-on experience with cell and/or battery or vehicle testing highly preferred. Comparable experience in aviation, or power electronics is acceptable.
  • Background in electrical, mechanical, process, automotive, automation, aerospace, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics OR computer engineering with hands-on mindset and experience.
  • Candidates with profound hands-on experience in analysis of safety failures, fire/burn testing, explosives, military testing, hazardous material handling, nuclear technology or fields of similar complexity but w/o academic degrees are encouraged to apply.
  • Senior roles are available for experienced candidates.
  • Driving license class B (normal car) is required. 25% travel to test locations is expected if required for the project.
  • High Voltage Training Class 3 is a plus.
