Job Summary:

What you will do:

• Coach and mentor a distributed team of individual contributors

• Foster a collaborative work environment, where engineers explore complex problems in partnership with peer teams, that have impact across Red Hat’s offerings

• Work with cross-functional engineering managers and teams to ensure alignment

• Work with leadership to create roadmaps, and execution plans to deliver the agreed functionality on time.

• Work closely with technical leads to direct the team in agile development.

• Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.

What you will bring:

• Previous experience leading or managing software engineering teams

• A history of delivering high-quality software solutions on time as either a manager or team lead

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to identify potential, develop people, and motivate and build a team

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English

• Passion for open source principles and practices, including transparency, inclusive collaboration, and the release early & often philosophy

• Ability to dive into various technical areas and provide guidance when necessary

The following are considered a plus:

• Experience with a container ecosystem such as Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift

• Familiarity with any of the following topics: high-availability, virtualization, networking, or storage

• Experience working with public clouds, complex distributed systems, and large corporate accounts
