As a Principal Engineer, you will:
  • Stay ahead of industry trends , integrating best practices and competitive insights into your work.
  • Manage the design, development, and maintaining of ECG algorithms in collaboration with software engineers, algorithm developers, and product managers.
  • Define and manage algorithm requirements , specifications, and interfaces.
  • Drive validation and verification activities at both component and system levels, ensuring compliance with medical device regulations and standards.
  • Oversee data collection and curation , dataset validation, performance testing, and documentation for regulatory submissions and customer-facing materials.
  • Influence strategic direction by contributing to technology roadmaps and aligning technical solutions with business needs.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and engineers to develop and evaluate novel algorithmic approaches and their clinical relevance.
  • Mentor and coach cross-functional teams , sharing your expertise and guiding colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • MSc or DSc (Tech.) in medical physics, bioelectronics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of experience in algorithm development for medical devices, particularly in cardiology and heart arrhythmia detection.
  • Proven leadership in algorithm architecture, data analysis, and verified SW development.
  • Deep understanding of physiological signal processing, especially ECG waveform analysis.
  • Prior experience in using AI/ML methods for developing medical device algorithms.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for algorithm and performance testing development.
  • Experience with C/C++ programming and working in agile (Scrum) environments.
  • Experience in acquiring clinical data and annotations, generating simulated signals, and validating datasets.
  • Familiarity with EU MDR and FDA regulations for medical devices.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Visionary mindset with a passion for improving heart monitoring technologies.
