Job Summary

The IT Release Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling the movement of releases to test and live environments. The primary objective of Release Management is to ensure that the integrity of the live environment is protected and that the correct components are released.

Job Requirements

1. Plan the rollout of software releases and design the necessary scripts and procedures in line with agreed ITIL standards.
2. Coordinate with project management, QA, and development teams to align the timing of releases.
3. Manage risks and resolve any issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
4. Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Go/No-Go reviews.
5. Implement a continuous improvement process for release activities to enhance efficiency and quality.
6. Produce deployment, run books and implementation plans, and conduct a weekly Release Reporting.
7. Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
8. Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks.
9. Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in ITIL Release Management.
3. Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
4. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
5. Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
6. General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, with expert level knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of Access.
7. ITIL certification is preferred.
