The Security Technology Services (STS) Data Security Technology Senior Associate provides advanced technical support for platforms securing and protecting data on protecting critical infrastructure and endpoints. You will likely spend most of your time supporting the run state of our encryption and data loss security technologies, including daily management, administration, and maintenance activities. As well, you will also bring operational expertise to efforts introducing new technologies, upgrading current ones and working with internal or external groups to ensure the related systems are secure and robust.

Your key responsibilities

  • Implement ‘data at rest encryption’ technologies on Windows and Linux servers. The role will configure and implement policies on technologies on the advice and guidance from Internal Security Consultants.
  • Make sound decisions to address a single or multiple endpoint encryption issue or in guiding broader global functionality issues that may affect portions of or entire business units.
  • Drive the priority and time management of your efforts to support/resolve assigned activities and communicate results and findings to end users, application owner and management as necessary.
  • Act as escalation point for the Service Desk to resolve time sensitive problem incidents and changes effectively and efficiently for service restoration.
  • Perform periodic checks and maintenance on the back-end encryption environment.
  • Uses analytics to identify issues as well as escalation for endpoint and data-at-rest encryption issues.
  • Contribute, as part of a small team of globally diverse skilled technicians, in the technical implementation and activities for endpoint data security improvements aligned to protection directives.
  • Maintain accurate information and data regarding IT staff and end-user issues within the service management system and operates according to established policies and standards.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Advanced analytical skills to probe for understanding and addressing, as appropriate, both common and more complex IT staff and end-user incidents escalated from the Global Service Desk and Application owners.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to identify industry standards and procedures for Incident, Problem, Change and Knowledge as appropriate.
  • Working knowledge of both Windows desktop and server operating system as well as familiarity with the Linux Operating.
  • Solid interpersonal skills to adapt personal communication styles to the style of others, to engage with all levels of the organization, staying calm under pressure and to maintain and/or restore service in the event of a disruption.
  • Personal time management skills to prioritize workload and work through issues and incidents with efficiency.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language to work effectively with all levels of end users and IT personnel.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in computer related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience in various information technologies including application support, service desk, desktop support, firewall or network operations or security.
  • Strong English language skills – written and verbal.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v2 or v3 Foundations training)
