Job responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Develop secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
• Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts andapplied experience
• 8+ years of hands on experience in software development with good knowledge of Java, Spring and AWS technologies.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing and operational stability
• Proven experience as a Java Developer with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and solid understanding of Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, MSK, ECS, Opensearch ).
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security and DevOps practices
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Knowledge of investment banking processes and financial markets, proficiency in the FIX protocol and its application in financial systems.
• Experience with Python programming and AI/ML technologies is a plus.
• Experience with GIT, Jira, Confluence, Wiki, microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Certification in AWS or related technologies is a plus.
