What you’ll do

As a DevOps Engineer in the Compliance Engineering team, you will have opportunity to help the team build, deliver and operate highly automated, state of the art and always available backend services used by all SAP products. Along with that you will have to tackle complex problems, analyse performance issues. Proactively monitor the service availability, Continuous Delivery pipelines, and identify areas for improvements such as missing automation or resource optimization.

Your responsibility will include:

• Own cloud services end-to-end, implementing distributed cloud-native systems using GCP services and best practices such as zero-downtime production deployments, canaries, frequent deployments, and test-driven development.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting (reading system logs, etc.) to identify issues with service performance, Continues Delivery pipelines, validation jobs, etc.
• Development, maintaining and improvement of existing Continues Delivery pipelines, strive for full automation
• Ensure security, high availability and reliability of the service.
• Collaborate closely inside the team and with other teams in an international environment.
• Participate in design and setup reviews, sharing your experience and best-practice knowledge with colleagues.
• Learn and adapt to new technologies in the fields of cloud-native service operation, software security and compliance.

What you bring

• Bachelor or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, business informatics, mathematics, engineering, physics or related area
• Experience with Kubernetes, ISTIO, CI/CD pipelines, GCP, AWS, (GoLang is a plus)
• Operational skills like installation/provisioning of software, troubleshooting, monitoring tools (ELK)
• Strong understanding of modern cloud architecture and automation, things like HA, resilience, disaster recovery, microservices
• Proven experience with programming/scripting languages, source control management, build/delivery infrastructure, operating system knowledge (Linux, bash scripting)
• Fast learner and Open-minded
• Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems
• Practical capabilities to conduct hands-on systems architecture, design and development in the Cloud to conduct specific analyses, develop prototypes and evaluate technologies
• Experience in agile software development and delivery
