As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Mainframe and Midrange (MMC) Team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, installing, configuring, and supporting a highly resilient and stable Mainframe network infrastructure. You will employ automated scripting where feasible and use your Mainframe Networking sysprog skills. You will have the opportunity to work with software-promoten systems management using various scripting languages and develop software systems to solve complex problems through automation tools. You will also get to work with RESTful APIs using Swagger (or similar framework), and be part of a team that is passionate about technology and open to new ideas and ways to manage Mainframe infrastructure software.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Strong understanding of VTAM, TCPIP, IP Security, SNA, OSA, FTP, SSH, SNMP, SMTP, JCL, SDSF, VSAM,SMP/E, Unix System Services, Parallel Sysplex, IBM system utilities, Network Tools – NDM, TPX, NetView,NetMaster etc.
- Mainframe Network Product installations, customizations and evaluations.
- Definition, Maintenance and Modification of existing z/Series Network Products
- Manage & Support Transmission Products – FTPs (SSL), sFTP (SSH), & Connect:Direct Secure (NDM)
- Manage & Support Session Manager applications - TPX, Supersession
- Develop Mainframe Network Toolkits with the help of NetMaster, NetView, Rexx & CLISTS
Maintain Mainframe Network Components: TCP/IP including DVIPA & DDVIPA configurations, IPSEC, IPFILTER,Intrusion Detection Services (IDS), Enterprise Extender (EE), SNA, VTAM, APPN, OSA connectivity interface to theCore - Provide logical connectivity between applications and mainframe subsystems
- Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures
- Support TCP/IP encryption methods (IPSEC, AT-TLS, and TLS) and monitoring of protocols and cyphers aligned tocompany policies
- Demonstrate stroung knowledge on Network Monitoring tools (Omegamon, Mainview, Mainframe Tracing, Sniffers)
