Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Virtualization, Infrastructure, and Storage Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our IT infrastructure. Your role includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems across multiple technical domains, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor help desk ticket queue and address inbound issues promptly.
• Assist with user administration, operating system installation and upgrades, patching, and general maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across hardware, operating systems, storage, and network domains.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Manage internal resource inventories and assist with license management and optimization.
• Design and manage VMware clusters, including networking and storage configurations.
• Administer Hyper-V environments.
• Perform patching and software upgrades.
• Reconcile software licenses.
• Conduct user and resource administration.
• Execute physical-to-virtual (P2V) migrations.
• Perform storage zoning and provisioning.
• Conduct day-to-day storage management and maintenance.

General Support/User Ticket Resolution:

• Install and repair operating systems.
• Perform security remediation.
• Manage space and storage resources.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in virtualization and storage.
• Proficient in Windows and Linux/UNIX operating system administration.
• In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related tools.
• Strong understanding of Linux distributions such as RedHat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
• Skills in designing, building, and administering Linux servers in heterogeneous environments.
• Experience with SAN storage management, including daily maintenance.
• Ability to install and maintain services such as DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, NTP, SVN, Syslog, and FTP/SFTP.
• Proficiency in scripting tools such as Bash, Python, and Perl.
• Experience creating VM templates, performing OS hardening, and conducting OS-level troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with maintaining compliance and regulatory obligations associated with IT infrastructure.
• Competency in VMware and Hyper-V administration, including storage, network management, and clustering.
• Network knowledge, including subnet/VLAN management, VPN, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of security concepts and practices.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Domain knowledge in data protection and storage.
• Familiarity with databases and applications.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
