· Manage the daily operations of the water laboratory, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
· Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly and develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory tests and analyses.
· Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
· Supervise and manage a team of laboratory technicians, including training, coaching, and performance management. Provide technical expertise and guidance to laboratory technicians and other staff members on water quality testing and analysis.
· Ensure that all laboratory operations and testing procedures comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
· Develop and implement procedures for reporting and responding to regulatory agencies. Communicate laboratory results and findings to relevant departments and teams, including production, EHS and permit team.
· Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in a water laboratory or related field, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
· Strong technical knowledge of water quality testing and analysis, including chemistry, biology, and microbiology.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
· Proficient in German and English is mandatory. Further Languages are of advantage.
