As an Infrastructure Configuration Consultant/Data Center Engineer within PNC’s Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Richmond, VA. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.Preferred skills include, but not limited to;
* Understanding data center infrastructure engineering/design/build/enhance/integrate the technology infrastructure
* Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the server and network infrastructure
* Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to provision the telecommunication and network products and services.
* Fiber optic cabling experience including troubleshooting utilizing various types of test equipment
* Familiar with Corning/ Panduit/ Vertiv products
* Experience with data center hardware rack and stack
* Data Center power provisioning and installation
* Update accurate and detailed AutoCAD drawings for remote site network design and configuration
Job Description- Manages the requirements for planning, organizing, and implementing enterprise-wide technology infrastructure and configuration management functions.
- Leads the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of major configuration changes from acquisition to termination.
- Oversees the effective implementation and use of the configuration management process, methodology, tools, procedures, and audit activities.
- Develops and publishes metrics to qualify and quantify configuration success; ensures that configuration practices are in compliance with standards.
- Ensures the accuracy and validity of the configuration database for content on assets, major infrastructure and platform components, system documentation and service components.
