As the EHS Manager, you will lead and manage all environmental, health, safety, sustainability, initiatives across the GE HealthCare Beijing site and integrate best practices across the organization.This leadership role is located on the Site Leadership Team. In this role, you will lead multiple initiatives to ensure successful delivery of local government and GE HealthCare EHS requirements. The chief goal is to protect the employees, customers, and the environment. You are responsible for all aspects of the EHS strategy, and also develops, implements and drives continuous improvement plans by meeting or exceeding all local & and GE Healthcare standards. It drives progression of the organisations culture to embed safety, health and environmental sustainability across the Beijing site.Crucially the role requires a coaching mindset, innovative thinking, and a commitment to leveraging digital tools and technology to drive compliance and evolution of improvements.


Essential Responsibilities

  • This is a site leadership team role, and you will work closely in leading, influencing and coaching fellow leaders, management and supervisors across different departments on site.
  • Across the site through regular tours, genba and networking to embed processes and requirements to identify potential hazards, risk assess and reduce risks together with colleagues across the site
  • Responsible for managing GEHC EHS programs and proactively driving continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and drive compliance with local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Develop and sustain systems to ensure continuous compliance with all permits.
  • Ensure all GEHC required tools, programs and management systems are properly implemented and that EHS work plans/documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and up to date. Complete required reports timely and with 100% accuracy.
  • Foster a safety-oriented culture among leaders, colleagues and contractors to encourage reporting of EHS concerns and implement initiatives to continuously improve safety standards and culture
  • Define EHS & Sustainability strategies with engaged teams and deliver action plans to reduce both short-term and long-term risks
  • Participate in GEHC EHS conference calls, meetings, EHS audit and task forces to proactively share best practices across GEHC.
  • Organise and facilitate the EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to truly embed knowledge and understanding
  • Lead EHS incidents, or near-misses to document findings, identify root causes, and implement corrective / preventive measures meeting GE HealthCare and local requirements

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Degree in EHS, or related field
  • Experience working in manufacturing site
  • Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and stakeholder simultaneously
  • Demonstrable leadership experience in a similar role
  • Solid understanding of current legislation and regulations within EHS in China
  • Proven experience in EHS management and in leading a professional team to deliver successful defined outcomes against local and global requirements
  • Coaching mindset, experience in coaching and influencing others both locally and globally
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in organisation that works to lean principles and operating systems
  • Experience fostering a safety-first culture in both manufacturing and construction areas
  • Good experience in the use of IT systems for reporting, data management and presentation of key data and information.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in managing radiation safety
  • Ability to drive innovation in safety protocols using digital solutions
  • Expertise in implementing AI, software, or other digital tools for EHS enhancement
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining EHS / Environmental / Other standards such as ISO14001, ISO45000, ISO50001.
