Lead a small team to manage day to day accounting processes for Japan, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, general ledger, and taxes which all require a timely and accurate review
Manage the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and supporting reconciliations for key balance sheet and income statement accounts, as well as analyzing and explaining variances to prior periods
Maintain and ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) documentation and requirements.
Liaise with internal colleagues and external parties for audit, tax return and other accounting and finance matters
Support process improvements to the general accounting functions to drive operational efficiencies while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the underlying accounting records.
Develop staff by managing performance, optimizing workload distribution within the group, and maintaining strong employee relationships
Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
Qualifications required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
Have MNC experience is preferred
Over 8 years solid hands-on accounting and FP&A experience with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems (Oracle is advantage).
