Responsibilities
- Produce technical safety/process engineering deliverables as required to support business objectives;
- Develop safety engineering philosophies, design HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) plans, safety specifications;
- Arrange and participate in formal process safety assessments, including HAZID (Hazard Identification), HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) target setting studies.
- Generate study reports;
- Provide input to project design assurance reviews (e.g., P&ID reviews);
- Perform hazardous area classification following industry codes and guidance (such as BS 60079 and EI15);
- Produce and review study reports, and design calculations, ensuring compliance with engineering quality standards;
- Provide technical support to projects;
- Stay informed about relevant regulatory frameworks, legislative changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments.
- Awareness of process operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX, and other health and safety legislations applicable to the role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong multitasking abilities and self-driven work ethic.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ideally, you will also have:
- Awareness of international codes and standards.
- IChemE or equivalent HAZOP Chair certificate
- IChemE or equivalent LOPA Chair certificate
