Role Description:

Senior TPMs, anticipate bottlenecks, provide critical issue management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance customer and business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, sophisticated projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. They should be entrepreneurial, innovative individuals who grow with solving tough problems. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are critical to success in this role. Knowledge of the following is required agile project management, release schedules.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be the driving force that collaborates with business and technical teams across Booking to make sure your teams deliver extraordinary solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible - all the while maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Interact with project sponsors, project partners and multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver sophisticated features
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide customer concern management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
  • Plan and manage multiple parallel projects
  • The ability to slice through ambiguity and drive clarity where confusion exists; demonstrating technical expertise with strong eye for business
  • Enhance resources for the greater good of the organization, identify inefficient processes or waste and redirect resources as vital
  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
  • Create, maintain and disseminate project information to customers
  • Communicate project issues and status in a concise, accurate, and professional manner
  • Insatiable curiosity and ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of projects
  • Apply standard methodologies to the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for projects based on experiences with a number of agile and blended approaches, as well effectively coordinating the implementations across teams using very different approaches.
  • Build and maintain integrated project schedules that account for internal/external dependencies, differing SDLC approaches, numerous constraints and adequately factors in some contingency for some unplanned delays while still being daring.

Role Qualifications and Requirements:

Ideal candidates will have some combination of the following:

  • 5 - 8 proven experience of delivering / leading sophisticated technical programs at a large scale
  • Knowledge of ITIL standard methodologies for service and asset management
  • Desirable Experience in delivering software in Agile environment; Agile certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related technical field, or related experience.
  • Experience using queryable data sources to solve business impact questions
  • Proven experience using a range of lean/agile project/programme management methods
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and resolving ambiguity
  • Proven experience of stakeholder engagement and customer management at all levels of an organization
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent understanding of business objectives and goals
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently toward established goals
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems resourcefully, and work well under pressure
