The current challenge we face is integrating GenAI into our core topics like data federation and migration. More specifically, SAP HANA Cloud Database currently provides data federation feature where customer’s data is retrieved and fetched into HANA Cloud Database on the fly and then processed for analytics. It’s going to be extended to cover wide range of data sources and it requires deep knowledge of SQL and its dialects to attain the optimal performance. Due to the complexity in modeling, it’s necessary to leverage LLM to make the SQL dialect generation/translation in an automated fashion.It’ll greatly improve the performance of the development process and make data federation more secure and robust.

Expectation and Tasks:

As a developer of the team, you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues:

• Develop SAP HANA Cloud Database with expertise in designing for scalability, reliability, and performance
• Be responsible for timely and high-quality product delivery
• Co-work with colleagues in North America and in Europe

Possible contribution areas:

• Data management by federation and replication
• Become an expert in SAP HANA Cloud as part of the SAP HANA Core team

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields
• Extensibility: Extension development for VSCode or Business Application Studio
• Experience in GenAI: Fine-tuning, Prompting, Completion API, function-calling
• Experience in SQL, Python, Git
• Expertise in C/C++
• Responsibility, integrity, teamwork
• Creative thinking, willingness and ability to learn quickly new concepts and technologies
