Your Role and Responsibilities
  • As part of IBM Z Developer Experience and AI working on watsonx Code Assistant for IBM Z Refactoring Assistant, you will join our mission and commitment in delivering state of the art software technology in our modern tools platform for working with large scale enterprise customers in their journey to Hybrid Cloud.
  • Z Refactoring Assistant is a tool that helps developers identify parts of an application to refactor into modular and reusable services.
  • In the journey to application modernization and refactoring, loosely coupled services can provide small and focused functionality through a published interface. Services help enterprises to adapt to modern software design and accelerate their application development with more flexibility.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • Experience in Java programming language
  • Proven knowledge of SQL language,
  • Experience with Git, Pipelines (Jenkins), or other development tools
  • Knowledgeable in building Microservices & REST architectures
  • Knowledgeable in Front End Development programming languages and design Frameworks (eg Angular)
  • Knowledgeable in Docker Containerization
  • A self-starter & ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledgeable in Spring Boot
  • Knowledgeable inAgile SDLC (design, development, test and deploy)


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Working knowledge of Orient DB and SQL Servers
  • Working knowledge of DevOps practices
  • Working knowledge of Test Automation Tools
  • Experience in Python Programming Language
  • Experience with Carbon, React, and Angular Design Systems
  • Experience with VS Code Extension Development
  • Experience with Eclipse Plugin Development
  • Availability to learn common Mainframe specific concepts and languages: COBOL, PL/I, JCL, Assembler, transaction and hierarchical database systems (CICS, IMS) and availability to gain knowledge in lesser-known languages and dialects (E.g.: Natural, IDMS, Adabas, DT Cobol, etc).
