Role Description:
The role will be responsible for identifying, managing, and communicating market risk exposures. The role involves managing significant risk positions, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis, and working with data for risk sign-off and reporting. It also needs a thorough understanding of risk management practices and appreciation for financial products. The role requires understanding the business activity on a trading desk and undertaking risk reporting across a range of audiences ranging from individual traders, through to senior management and regulators. Risk analysis is one half of the job, performed using the firm’s systems as well as via ad-hoc methods.
Responsibilities:
- You will be the Risk Manager for EMEA GFX, supporting crucial risk management oversight and analysis for a broad range of trading activities within the GFX & LCT line of business.
- You will provide oversight of identification of market risk exposures and mitigation strategies and resolutions in accordance with the bank's risk appetite and risk limits identified, as well as regulatory requirements, as applicable.
- Provide oversight of risk requests, breach remediations and providing risk effective challenges for front line units.
- Oversee development of market risk coverage plans, execution of monitoring, testing and risk assessments, and market risk reporting for specific products
- Liaise with businesses to understand market trends and impacts on portfolio, using knowledge of stress testing and its applicability to market risk.
- Ensure adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company
- You will have close interaction with the trading desk and other risk and support groups (i.e. Finance, Quants, Technology, etc.) utilising Product knowledge and quantitative skills.
What we are looking for:
- Good academic background, which may include a postgraduate qualification
- Good people skills demonstrated across various communication styles (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrable working knowledge of financial markets, ideally with a good grasp of Macroeconomics
- Working knowledge of financial derivatives and modelling
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize across several competing demands, meeting tight deadlines
Skills that will help:
- Previous experience in comparable role as a Risk Manager working with the Front Line and performing risk analysis is desirable
- Analytical and Critical Thinking
- Portfolio Analysis and Risk Analytics experience
