As a Vice President in the APAC Asset Management Risk Management team, you will serve as both a Legal Entity Risk Manager and an Investment Risk Manager. You will support the Chief Risk Officer in developing risk governance structures in Taiwan and collaborate with various risk functions to understand and oversee the entity’s risk profile. In the Investment Risk role, being part of the regional Investment Risk team, you will monitor and report on investment risks, focusing on Multi-Assets Solutions and ETF accounts in APAC, while conducting stress analyses and ensuring compliance. This position allows you to work closely with investment teams, providing proactive risk management. Job responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Taiwan Asset Management legal entity risk oversight initiatives
- Manage Asset Management Risk Management initiatives impacting Taiwan unit trusts and separated accounts
- Collaborate with global and local experts to build out the ETF platform in Taiwan
- Measure, monitor, and independently assess risks in investment activities, providing credible challenges and escalating issues to senior management
- Innovate and lead portfolio risk oversight procedures and processes
- Partner with the Asset Management Risk Innovation Lead to challenge the status quo and promote change
- Promote a strong control environment by adhering to risk and control expectations
- Present risk exposure and relevant highlights to the legal entity board and regulators as needed
- Support regulatory exam management and lead remediation of regulatory findings when applicable
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 7 years of experience related to Asset Management Risk Management
- Strong working knowledge of the industry and related regulations
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm and the team
- Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with partners and stakeholders across the organization to advance business priorities
- High degree of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure
- Strong Chinese and English proficiency
