Principal Software Engineer

Qualifications

• ​Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, butnot limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
• 4+ years hands-on experience in development and operations of distributed systems, parallel processing or database systems as an individual contributor
  • ORequivalentexperience
• Demonstratedexperience in high-performance compute, low-latency serving or algorithm development.​

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements arefor this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• ​Experience in Graph high-performance compute.
• Demonstrated experience of graph database query languages, e.g.,OpenCypher, Datalog.
• Working Knowledge of query planning and execution in graph or non-relational database management systems.​

• ​You will lead the development of the core components of the scale-out graph engine including the core database index, query processing, and language development stack.
• You will design, implement, and lead modularization, optimization, testing, repairability and observability of the core system components.
• You will design andparticipatein the implementation ofappropriate observabilitymetrics and analyze these metrics to improve the quality of decisions.
• You will input to collecting, classifying, and analyzing complex data.
• You will steer the team to drive multiple group project plans, release plans, and work item in coordination with theappropriate stakeholders(e.g.project managers).​
