What you`ll do

As a Associate Developer (f/m/d) and integral part of the ABAP Platform development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software to boost the development efficiency of the ABAP development process. You will contribute to the enablement of core infrastructure, services, and tools related to the technology stack. The main tasks of your daily business will be the advancement and tightening of the ABAP and Git integration, providing tools and technology for integrating state-of-the-art distributed version control platforms like GitHub.

A key focus area will be the Software Component Lifecycle Management, where you will contribute to the development and enhancement of tools for managing software components in the ABAP environment. This includes building the “Manage Software Components” Fiori app as well as leveraging the latest ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) features to develop key central components for managing repositories within the ABAP environment.

Moreover, with the introduction of Bring Your Own Git (BYOG), you will help customers connect their own Git repositories with the “Manage Software Components” app. This enhancement provides better visibility into code, branches, and commits while ensuring compliance with ABAP cloud development guidelines.

What you bring

You should have a sound technical background, with a university degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience. Experience in at least one modern programming language is a must, as is fluency in German and English.

Additionally, you should bring experience in two or more of the following topics:

• Knowledge of at least one Object-oriented language is a must.
• Ideally you have knowledge of ABAP OO.
• Good understanding and safe handling of Git and related tools and processes.
• Cloud-native backend technologies (Docker / Kubernetes).
• Agile development methodologies and tools.
• Professional work experience in a development role is a strong plus.
