Key job responsibilities
This is a highly visible role that requires both business acumen when working with senior management, a strong technical background for understanding systems and database engineering practices, and technical depth for removing development roadblocks. You will interact with a broad cross section of the Amazon organization as you trace through complex interconnected systems to improve the overall operational stance of the organization and root out any issues uncovered along the way.Responsibilities will include Building and Leading the System Engineering team that own building innovative solutions to operational problems and driving measurable Operational Excellence improvements across the entire organization.About the team

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
At least 4 years’ experience in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
At least 4 years of system, network and database engineering experience
At least 4 years of experience involvement with development team(s) that delivered commercial software or software-based services (development, QA testing, or security role)
Minimum 4 years of experience with technical product management in a software development environment utilizing lifecycles such as scrum, waterfall, or agile
Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in system, database and network engineering
Development experience in Java, TypeScript, Python, and/or Ruby
Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
