Your impact

As a Principal Safety Risk Engineer, you'll take on the responsibility of providing technical leadership, including contributing to the development of tenders, proposals, and client presentations, as well as conducting technical reviews. You will apply your significant knowledge of Safety Risk Engineering to projects ensuring that safety risks are identified and mitigated in accordance with legislation and providing robust safety arguments for projects across multiple industries. Your role will embody Jacobs' core values, fostering an inclusive and diverse cultural ethos that reflects our Culture of Caring and prioritizes the health and wellbeing of our people. You'll set clear technical direction and serve as a strong role model for client focus and responsiveness. Your well-established client relationships will be instrumental in identifying and anticipating client needs, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.

In this role, you'll be a pillar of support for the ANZ Rail and Transit Section and for the wider Jacobs, encouraging engagement, resilience, and adaptability. You'll inspire the team to pursue innovation while maintaining exceptional project delivery standards and practicing responsible, proactive technical management. Your expertise will be invaluable as you guide the SESA team through projects across various lifecycle phases and assist our clients in achieving construction objectives during post-design stages. A critical aspect of your role will be ensuring all deliverables comply with Safety Assurance and Systems Engineering principles.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical or aeronautical related engineering disciplines.
  • Extensive years of experience delivering Safety Risk Engineering or System Safety in safety critical industries.
  • Effective communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and best practice application of Safety Risk Engineering across sectors.

No matter what drives you, you'll discover a way to cultivate, nurture and achieve your goals – all at a single global company.

Please contact the team if you require support or reasonable adjustments regarding our recruitment process (for example, you need the application form in a different format).

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people from marginalised or underrepresented backgrounds are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every qualification. At Jacobs, we're dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align with every requirement in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this or other roles.

Please note: If you are being represented by a recruitment agency you will not be considered, to be considered you will need to apply directly to Jacobs.
