The Role:

As a Director Project Manager at Capital One, you will be part of the Retail Bank’s Data Modernization Program in our Data Products & Platforms group. As we pursue twin goals to make data easy to find, understand, and use and to make data well-managed and easy to govern, you will lead our Program Management function. Interacting with a variety of leaders, data producers, and data consumers within Retail Bank and beyond, you will create strategy and lead a team through high priority projects for the company. You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will lead important and exciting projects from day one, working alongside key stakeholders across the company to enable Retail Bank to transform our data ecosystem and elevate data management.

Responsibilities of a Director Project Manager:

- Owning the Data Modernization program governance structure, inclusive of the development of key program deliverables and the management of program routines and cadences

- Designing, developing, and managing project plans, and communications in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements

- Ensuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget within a challenging environment while simultaneously managing risk

- Partnering cross-functionally with executives and producer/consumer stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

The person will:

- Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts

- Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

- Motivated to work in a highly technical environment with product, engineering, and analyst talent focused on improving our data ecosystem to power intelligent decisions

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

- At least 5 Years of Project Management experience

- At least 3 Years of People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters / MBA degree

-10+ years of Project Management experience

- 4+ years of People Management experience

- PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
