You are an experienced, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Software Development Manager who wants to lead a motivated team to solve complex big data problems. Your responsibilities include hiring, developing, and managing a cross-functional team of software and data engineers. You will guide your team to deliver across the entire project lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and operations. Your team owns mission-critical data platform services, pipeline orchestration frameworks, and a data warehouse. You will also spearhead new strategic initiatives to raise the bar on self-service analytics.
Key job responsibilities
* Work backwards from customer needs to solve ambiguous problems within given constraints.* Coach and develop team members across performance levels, providing targeted feedback and creating personalized career growth plans that align with organizational goals.
* Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to define and execute a multi-year vision and strategy, aligning business needs with technical capabilities.
* Drive the execution of cross-functional programs from design to launch, delivering results incrementally.
* Communicate effectively with senior management, customers, and executives across geographical locations about complex features, status, risks, and changes.
* Tackle complex problems in a fast-paced, highly-technical environment, securing buy-in from diverse stakeholders.
* Manage cross-functional work, prioritizing tasks, resolving dependencies, and balancing business needs with technical constraints.* Introduce and refine mechanisms to create lasting improvements in processes and outcomes.

- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience is building data solutions
- Experience with leading effective engineering teams
- Expertise with big data technologies
- Strong system design experience
