The telecommunications industry is changing rapidly with shorter technology cycles, increased capital expenditure requirements, digitization and increasing customer expectations from operators. All of this causes pressure on margins & cash flow requiring operators to transform the way they operate, automating and digitizing their processes, upgrading their technology to leverage the power of cloud, AI and other cutting-edge developments.
As the telecommunications industry evolves, we will work with them to help them transform. You will be working on projects across the Americas, EMEIA and APAC and serving the entire telecommunications spectrum including operators, network equipment providers, system integrators, cloud vendors and specialized tool providers.
In this role, as a manager in GDS Consulting, you will lead the implementation of Ciena/ Blue Planet products and integration with the telecommunications operators’ Operations Support Systems (OSS). You will be responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client's satisfaction.
Your key responsibilities:
- You are the day-to-day point of contact for clients and managers on projects.
- Closely work with the client to understand and manage their expectations, as well as working closely with Blue Planet and third-party vendors to ensure delivery.
- Delivery and Product implementation, configuration, extensions, and integrations for OSS systems involving Blue Planet
- You will map OSS software capabilities to those needs and build consensus around the solution, proposes technical solutions to system requirements.
- You build and maintain long-term relationships with senior clients.
- You drive strategic discussions regarding business objectives and strategy KPIs.
- Delivering qualified solutions to meet business objectives, providing focus to ensure scope and objectives are maintained throughout the project and program life cycles ensuring benefits realization.
- Result oriented leadership style, setting achievable goals and leading by example – linking commercial and technical arenas.

To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Consultant with minimum of 10+ Years proven experience and significant knowledge and professionalism gained from years of OSS and Telecommunications products and implementation experience.
- Seasoned working knowledge OSS products and services, specific experience in implementing solutions and in systems integrations.
- Experience in at least one of the OSS COTS products (E.g., Blue Planet, Netcracker, Ericsson, Nokia, etc.)
- Knowledge is Databases (Neo4J, SQL Server, MySQL), programming languages (Perl, Python, HTML, Java, Angular, Yang) and Platforms and OS (Apache Web server, some IIS, Unix/Linux, Windows OS, Mac OS)
- Expertise and experience to provide thought leadership and best or common practices on business process or solution design for OSS implementation.
- Expertise to review and approve methods design and development solution documents, internal and external test strategies, plans and scripts.
- Navigate complex client relationships and OSS implementation challenges.
- Significant knowledge and experience gained from years of OSS / BSS domain (Order Orchestration, Inventory, Provisioning, NFV, MSO, etc) delivery and implementation.
- Business architecture experience, translating business demand into service areas aiding technical design.
- Exceptional quantitative skills enabling identification of key business issues and progression of solutions.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/ or any other relevant discipline.
