Key Responsibilities
- Manage large construction projects (>$100M), ensuring contractors meet all contractual obligations.
- Oversee the construction contractor’s safety program and verify compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
- Conduct weekly project management and progress meetings; prepare construction progress updates and monthly summary reports.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and other design-related documentation.
- Provide interpretation of drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Coordinate and facilitate input from the client, design teams, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily construction progress, inspection reports, and photographs.
- Monitor contractor compliance with permit conditions and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate on-site inspections, quality assurance, and testing activities.
- Resolve construction-related issues and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Assist with commissioning activities and participate in public consultations when necessary.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 15+ years of proven experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects (preferably watermain/pipeline projects).
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices, safety requirements, and regional regulations in British Columbia.
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods and managing multiple capital projects.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Canada.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
