Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• OR equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience shipping high-performance C++ or C#/Java code server software.
• 4+ years of experience with backend, storage, or database development in distributed systems environment.
  

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• Understanding of distributed systems and/or Operating System and/or experience with Databases, Software Defined Networking and Storage systems are highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experienceinhigh-performing engineering teams that work on system software is preferred
• Understanding and/or experience withprotocolslikeTLS, RPCs,Network Gateways and Proxies, Microservices and Cloud Computing

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement the next phase of connectivity, scalability, and reliability features of SQL DB to help propel the next wave of fundamental capabilities for our cloud databases offerings.
• Develop a cross-cutting technical direction and strategic planning for product development, feature enhancement and innovation in alignment with the businessobjectives.
• Stay updated onrecent trendsin the database world with a focus on networking, reliability, scalability, and security, and be open to experimenting with promising trends on these focus areas that mightopen upnew avenues of growth for SQL DB.
• Identifyingand driving prototype projects for quick evaluation of design ideas
• Conduct code reviews and help shape and steer the team coding guidelines.
