RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads, motivates, and coaches teams such as Project Accounting (PA), Cash Application (CA) and Cash Collection (CC) to drive high performance, employee development and retention. This includes management of the teams responsible for functional support to multiple regions and to multiple BUs and is achieved via management and supervisory structure.
• Drives compliance with company policies, procedures, US GAAP, SOX and statutory requirements as well as process consistency across multiple regions and business units supported by the team
• Provides leadership and direction through Senior managers and/or Managers; is accountable for the performance and results of assigned PA teams ensuring that GBS and functional goals are set and cascaded
• Adapts and executes functional or departmental business plans and plays a key role in the development of GBS and Global Project Accounting strategy
• Establishes performance driven culture, monitors and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs), identifies process gaps, proposes solution and drives actions to achieve greater process efficiency
• Serves as GBS functional leader in the Mumbai GBS leadership team
• Drives transformation initiatives, process improvement and implementation of Lean mindset across the teams,
to optimize efficiencies
• Responsible for executing on CFO Organization strategies and priorities and serves as a partner on special projects involving Global Project Accounting organization
• Ensures strong communication links are established and maintained on all levels of the organization and effective collaboration with Operations and other departments is maintained
• Represents assigned GBS functions in senior level stakeholders’ meetings, point of contact for key stakeholders per the PA engagement process, resolving most complex queries
• Collaborates with other GBS teams to harmonize and support a OneGBS mentality
• Ensures that the budget and financial targets are met
• Proactively identifies & solves complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business
• Actively collaborates with internal and external auditors to ensure successful results and implementation of corrective actions as necessary
• As a leader within the Global Project Accounting team, you will support the Senior Director of Project Accounting and BU, CFO Controllers on Ad hoc requests
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCES/WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, plus recognized accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• 10+ years of progressive international finance and accounting experience, including project accounting
• Proven record of leading large teams and achieving objectives via supervisors and/or managers
• Understanding project accounting processes and US GAAP revenue recognition
• Excellent verbal and written communication and change management skills
• Stakeholder management skills, including working with senior managers
• Ability to lead and develop an inclusive and diverse team
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload, multitask, and meet required deadlines
• Ability to work in fast - paced business environment with evolving priorities and persevere through challenges and ambiguity
• Superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail
