Your Key Responsibilities
The nature of this role means no two projects will be the same. You will provide accounting advisory services encompassing support in the with regards to newly adopted Standards (IFRS 17 and IFRS 9) for insurance companies; improvement of financial reporting processes such as fast close and business intelligence projects; on call financial reporting advice; support in the re-design of control framework in financial reporting and accounting as a result of the adoption of the new Standards. That means you need to think outside the box, be creative and solutions oriented, challenge existing practices and be adaptable to change. As you build your knowledge and experience, you will become a credible advisor, influencing clients and engagement teams on resolutions that will impact entire industries.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- At least 4 years of working experience in consulting / audit services or a financial accounting/reporting role within a company in Insurance sector with a proven track record of outstanding performance and technical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent academic background including a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or any quantitative degree.
- Professional accountancy qualification or working towards gaining one (ACCA, ACA, CFA, SOEL)
- Good knowledge of accounting and IFRS
- Ability and comfort in researching technical emerging issues (including regulations and industry practices) and distinct willingness to learn
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication in Greek and English
- Flexibility to travel in accordance with client and other job requirements both locally and internationally.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Knowledge in IFRS 17 and IFRS 9
- Experience in finance transformation engagements
