As Sustainability Engineer you are responsible for the development of the site’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, reporting to the Site ESG Leader. You will drive the site's goals and maintain the roadmap with regards to energy-, waste-, water- and carbon reduction and develop operational and project controls.
Essential Responsibilities
- Developing sustainability opportunities with site energy and project teams.
- Developing the site's Water Stewardship program.
- Ensuring adherence to site environmental standards and elements (Framework 3.0).
- Maintaining ISO50001 Framework, including SEU and sustainability audit programs.
- Monitoring and improving energy metering on site and ensuring data is collected.
- Supporting the use of BAT (Best Available Technique) on site.
- Confirming site savings for projects and continuous improvements.
- Liaising with other functionalities on energy and sustainability initiatives.
Basic Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or associated Discipline.
- Significant engineering experience in a site and/or corporate production environment, with specific specialized expertise in clean utilities, utilities, HVAC, boilers, WFI generator.
- Experience in ESG / Sustainability programs and management.
- Experience in stakeholder management.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Engineering Biotech/pharmaceutical industry supporting manufacturing (quality, process development, manufacturing, clinical manufacturing).
- A qualification in environmental sustainability or energy management is a plus.
