QuantumControl Scientist andEngineering Managerto develop newquantum scalableplatforms for quantum computing.to devise and build new instrumentation, embeddedand architectures towards scale-up of quantum machines.

Required/minimum qualifications

• Doctorate inElectrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physicsor related field AND 3+ years experience in industry
  • OR Master's Degree inElectrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physicsor related field AND 6+ years experience in industry
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in inElectrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physicsor related field AND 8+years experience in industry
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years people management experience.
• 4+years experiencein experimental quantum science.
• Experience with engineering management structures.
• Hands-on skillsin cryogenic measurement techniques.

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience withcustom ASICsdesigned for cryogenic temperatures

• Experience with semiconductor devices and spins in semiconductors.

• Design and fabrication of nanoscale devices.

• Install and wiring of dilution refrigerators.

• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations in a rapidly changing environment.

• Effective collaboration and coaching abilities.

Quantum Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

• Oversee complex quantum machine architecture paradigms and specifications spanning quantum devices to software sub-systems.
• Assistor lead Microsoft-related engagements with universities, foundries, affiliatedvendors,and suppliers as they relate to the needs of theQuantumEngineering team.
• Develop and deliver projects on budget, working with therest of the Quantum SystemsEngineering team to implement procurement processes.
• As it pertains to theQuantum SystemsEngineering team,adviseon facilities, laboratory build out, operations, equipment specifications, space planning and equipmentinstallation.
• Define and manage innovation projects with third party OEMs and applications teams for process module development as well as related equipment/tooling development.
• Overseefuturetransition of mainstay processes to foundry operations, including full specifications, and develop integration strategies for modules associated withreadout at scale.
