The JBoss Sustaining Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the development of Red Hat's Enterprise Application Platform. In this role, you will build solutions for customer requirements and bugs to improve the quality of EAP. Communicating with support, core and product engineers is essential in achieving this goal.

You will work in a collaborative, distributed environment, communication with support, core and product engineers is essential in achieving this goal. Your code will be reviewed by different senior engineers which gives you a great opportunity to learn a lot about the Java ecosystem and your code quality.

Not only will you find yourself encountering the entire spectrum of technologies that Jakarta EE offers, for example:

• EJB container

• Web container

• Transaction Manager

You will also be contributing your solutions to our Open Source JBoss projects:

• WildFly

• Hibernate

• Narayana

• Smallrye

• and others

What you will do:

• Be responsible for developing and maintaining JBoss EAP code, including:

• Backport already developed improvements and fixes

• Develop solutions to improve quality of JBoss EAP and its components

• Maintain and write unit and integration tests where necessary

• Conduct analysis of root causes of problems

• Be effective working in a collaborative, distributed environment across different time zones

What you will bring:

• Advanced Java programming experience

• Experience with development of Java EE applications

• Practical experience with Maven and Git

• Practical experience with scripting (Bash, Python)

• Experience with testing (Junit, TestNG) at least on unit-test level

• A positive attitude and desire to share ideas openly

• Proven ability to work autonomously

• Excellent communication skills at all levels across the business
