Senior Mechanical Engineer.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the designGeneral Compute serverbuilding blocksand racks,support theeployment in Azure datacenters.a track recordon productdevelopment from concept through production andis well groundedthe fundamentals of mechanical engineeringtackling technical challenges.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience

      • OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience

      • OR Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or related field

      • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+years of experiencedeveloping specifications, interface control documents, and managing design requirementsrelated to server components and systems design.
  • 4+ years ofCAD(PTC Creo/Solidworks)and simulation tools (Ansys/Abaqus),soundunderstanding of mechanical design principles,ANSI Y14.5GD&T,Tolerance analysis,manufacturing processes(sheet metalprocessing, plastic injection molding, stamping, die casting, extrusions),conductingDOEs, Testing and Va

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Master's inMechanicalEngineeringor a relevant discipline preferred
  • + years inmechanicaldesign and analysis for complex hardware systems, with a focus on cloudor HPC
  • inmechanicalCAD design tools (PTC Creo preferred,Solidworks)
  • ructuralstatics and dynamicsbackground.Experience(>1yr)with structuralFEAsimulation tools(Ansys/Abaqus)
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, data center operations, and related technologies, such as server racks, power distribution, cooling systems, and cable management
  • Experience in all phases of the Product Development Cycle- concept design, prototyping,testing and validation, design regression,
  • guiding andpartneringwithODMsincludingdrivingdesign,prototypingand validation activities
  • Experience withair andliquid cooled systemsin servers
  • Experience with high volume manufacturingof enclosuresfor electronics systems
  • Experience in sheet metalprocesses, PCBmanufacturing,plasticinjection molding, die casting, stamping

Responsibilities

In this role,you willyour designand analysis skills ttake ownership of mechanicalprojects from concept toworking withhardware infrastructure. You will utilize yourto conceptualize andcommunicate designand performif scenariosearly product development.

Working in conjunction withand SI partners, you will design mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using CAD software and create prototypes for testing and validationour productsYou willand interface controldrive best practices formechanical designacross our product portfoliocompliance with regulatory and safety standardsYou will be conducting design reviewsgenerating engineering documentationand developing test plans and reportsincluding formulating DOEs, analyzing data anddecision making to meet project schedules.Your designs will focus onpart commonality,and safety, without compromising performanceYou willbe responsible forproactively selectingand evaluating materials to supportdrive the re-useof materials acrossproduct familiesand product generations.

As asenior mechanical engineer,you will perform structural staticand dynamics simulationsguide design improvements andadequate design marginYou will collaborate withexternal vendors and suppliers to source components, lead design strategy, ensure robust performance prediction, review manufacturing processes, and ensure adherence to quality standardby troubleshootingand systems issuesenable a seamlessigns from developmentto production.You are expected to stay abreast of the latest trendsmechanical engineeringcloud infrastructure and data center technologies, and propose innovative ideas to enhance our hardware offerings
