Key responsibilities:
Managing an ANZ based legal team.
Be a part of the country management team advising them on all legal matters, strategy and risks.
Providing legal support on complex transactional deals, risk assessment and management with stakeholders, changes in go-to-market models in the various business segments whether direct or indirect.
Providing legal support on regulatory related risks, liaising with Quality and Product Business group stakeholders both in ANZ, US, EU and APAC.
Advising on complex litigation and pre-litigation matters and any regulatory undertakings. Managing outside counsels (OSC) on these complex matters and ensuring that OSC engagement principles are applied to manage costs for all OSC engagement.
Managing all compliance related matters in ANZ including training and program roll-out, with support from APAC Zone Compliance team. Driving a compliance culture in the ANZ team.
Be familiar with Data Privacy laws in ANZ and to manage local privacy counsel. You will work with APAC Privacy Counsel in addressing privacy related risks & driving privacy compliant culture in ANZ.
Supporting the global M&A teams in any M&A related activities that may impact ANZ.
Supporting the legal team in implementation of new or changes to current laws affecting our business as well as support global projects involving ANZ.
The Legal Function at Philips ANZ is supported by a qualified Contracts Management Team. The Legal Function manages high value, high risk and strategic matters for the company. You will play a key role in strategic scoping work for the Legal Function and undertake initiatives in the journey to continuously improve productivity in the Legal department.
You’re the right person if:
Legal experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device/technology or top tier/mid-tier private practice in relevant practice areas is preferred. We will also consider suitable candidates from ICT multinational companies.
Experience in managing a team of legal professionals will be an advantage. Experience in supporting sales of digital solutions will be an advantage.
Ideally 12-15 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
General corporate commercial experience with a proven foundation in the areas of contract law, Therapeutics Goods Act, Australian Consumer Law, Privacy Law, and some exposure to the Corporations Act.
Experience in dealing with healthcare regulators will be an added advantage.
Experience in collaborating with varied business and supporting teams, local management teams, regional & global stakeholders.
This key role will report directly to the Head of Legal & Compliance for ASEAN-Pacific Zone.
