This is a partnering role where you will help influence workforce planning e.g. mix of skills, capabilities, contingent workers, off-shore solutions, future target operating models and workforce plans to realise the ambitions of our Service Lines.

You will use a commercial mind-set to understand and monitor business performance and the issues and challenges facing the practice. Your focus will be working closely with senior stakeholders to meet financial and non-financial objectives, as well as overseeing and ensuring that resource requirements for our engagement teams are met, optimising the utilisation of resources, improve performance and ensure Operational Excellence is maintained at all times. This is in conjunction with ensuring our people are provided with the best experiences to drive their careers.

You will build networks and work closely with stakeholders across Core Business Services and within your Service Line (e.g. Operations/Talent). You will lead in various initiatives such as the roll out of new technologies (including Robotics & Process Automation) and Diversity & Inclusion in relation to deploying engagement teams.

Deployment

  • Responsible for supporting and delivering end to end resourcing solutions to the client facing business.
  • Deal with resource escalations from the team being the main point of contact and managing issues accordingly.
  • Monitor and escalate availability of resources and work proactively with colleagues from across the Service Line, wider FS in the UK and EMEIA to ensure utilisation is maximised.
  • Analyse pipeline and proactively engage with pursuit team to understand proposed resource model, ensuring resource requirements are known and can be met.
  • Ensuring deployment is in line with Quality KPIs, where relevant.

Headcount Management

  • Leading on headcount management and capacity planning, optimising the utilisation and chargeability of our client facing workforce
  • Leading on strategic workforce planning to ensure the goals of long-term headcount management are met and aligned with UKFS.

Experience Management

  • Liaise with the business, counsellors and HR to keep abreast of the development needs of all individuals in the group to ensure planning is aligned.
  • Work with client facing staff to understand their skills and experiences for appropriate alignment of engagements.
  • Supporting your direct reports to effectively deliver Experience Management


Business Impact

  • Provide insights on business performance and discuss trends, interventions and actions to improve results
  • Forecast financial performance and utilisation levels on a weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual basis using Retain (Resource Management tool) and EY Financial Reporting tools.
  • Required to prepare, analyse and present Management Information to senior stakeholders on budget vs. actual, headcount, deployment and wider Operational Excellence metrics such as utilisation, Retain accuracy, timesheets
  • Understand and communicate key business developments which may affect upcoming performance through regular update with key stakeholders, including client serving leadership.
  • Producing and maintaining various ad hoc and regular Management Information reports, interpreting and acting on results.
  • Assist/lead with team financial planning and (re)forecasting as needed

Team Leadership

  • Direct line management of Resource Management team members, including coaching, counselling and performance management responsibilities.
  • Undertaking ad hoc project work at the request of the Partners and/or Resource Management team leaders.
  • Key contact for designated client facing population, dealing with a variety of queries, maintaining a thorough understanding of all business processes to be able to resolve or delegate queries.
  • Support the roll out of new initiatives, systems and processes.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Proven experience within Resource Management, or Operational, background ideally within a professional services environment and/or Financial Services sector.
  • Experience in a management role.
  • University degree or equivalent years of experience.
